Polish with the Tools drawer

Beat sheets, coverage, table reads and dialogue passes: the tools that make a draft better.

The Tools button at the top right of the editor bar opens a searchable drawer of nearly ninety tools. You don't need most of them. These are the ones that improve a short film the most.

Check the structure

  • Beat sheet maps your scenes against story beats, so you can see a missing turn or a sagging middle.
  • Intensity curve and Pacing heatmap show where the script goes flat.
  • Setups and payoffs lists things you planted and whether they pay off.

Get notes

  • Script coverage gives you a reader's coverage notes on the whole script.
  • Plot holes and Continuity check catch things that don't add up.
  • Runtime estimate and Budget risks flag scenes that will be expensive or long to make.

Improve the dialogue

  • Dialogue polish and Rewrite in character tighten lines so each character sounds like themselves.
  • Character voices shows whether two characters talk the same way.
  • AI table read performs the scene so you can hear it. The free Table read view (under More) steps through it line by line.

Share it for notes

Tools → Share read-only link (the script must be in a project) makes a link with optional comments, password and expiry. Readers comment on any page, and their notes arrive in Comments and notes (⌘⌥M), where you Reply and Resolve them.

Lock it before production

When the story's settled, Revisions → Start Blue revision and locking numbers under Scene numbers mean later changes show as coloured pages and new scenes get numbers like 12A, so your shot list and schedule still line up.
