One film usually needs several files: a master, a web version, a vertical cut for phones, maybe stems for a sound mixer. Export in the editor makes all of them.
The full film
Click Export (top right) → Full. Pick a Platform Preset (YouTube 4K/1080p, Instagram Reel, TikTok, Cinema DCP, Archive (ProRes)…) or set it yourself:
| Format | Use it for |
|---|---|
| MP4 (H.264) | Uploading anywhere; the safe default |
| MP4 (H.265/HEVC) | Smaller files at the same quality |
| ProRes 422 (.mov) / DNxHR HQ (.mov) | A master, or handing to a colourist or another editor |
| WebM (VP9) | Embedding on the web |
Start Export renders in your browser and downloads the file. Cloud Render renders on MoviePro's servers; only cloud renders appear in Publish and share links as "Rendered exports".
A vertical version
Before exporting for TikTok, Reels or Shorts, use Inspector → AI Post → Reframe: choose the Target Format and Auto-Reframe Clips so subjects stay in frame at 9:16. Or switch the toolbar's Project format.
Other deliverables
The other Export tabs:
- Clip and Batch: one clip, or several presets in one go.
- Audio: a Full mix, an M&E mix (no dialogue) for dubbing, or Stems per track or per dialogue/music/effects.
- Still: a frame as PNG or JPEG, for a poster or thumbnail.
- NLE: EDL, FCPXML, Premiere/Resolve XML or OTIO to finish in another editor.
Check the platform's own upload specs before you deliver; YouTube publishes its recommended settings, linked below.
