Learn from a film with Deconstruct
Break a trailer or short into scenes, shots and a style, then borrow what you need.
- Where
- Deconstruct
- Cost
- 2 credits per 5 minutes of film, plus 1
Deconstruct watches a film and writes it back out as scenes, shot prompts, a style guide, a story and a cast. It's the quickest way to study how a scene you admire is built, or to start your own film in a style you can point at.
Run it
- Open Deconstruct and Upload a film, trailer or clip (MP4/MOV up to 500 MB) or Or pick from your library.
- Choose Detail: Key shots (up to four per scene) or Every shot.
- Click Deconstruct · N credits. Long films are watched in parts; Stop keeps what's finished.
Read the result
- Scenes & shots: an editable prompt for every shot; ▶ jumps the player to it.
- Style: a style prompt and Avoid list, plus cinematography, lighting, grade, palette, editing and sound notes.
- Story: a Master prompt and synopsis.
- Cast & places: characters and locations with prompts.
Borrow from it
- Use style as project look replaces your look's style, palette and negative prompt with this film's.
- Add N shots to Shot List copies the shots into your plan.
- Per shot, Still to look adds that frame as a style reference, and Video Studio opens the shot ready to generate.
Use footage you have the rights to, and treat the result as a study: borrow a grammar of shots or a palette, not someone else's film.
Remix it
Remix into a new film writes a new film from the breakdown with an instruction such as "Same story, set in 1980s Tokyo" (Write new film · 1 credit).
