AI short film maker
Make a short film with AI, start to finish.
To make an AI short film, write a short script, break it into a shot list, storyboard each shot, generate the shots with a video model, then cut the clips together on a timeline and export. MoviePro keeps each of those steps in one project. A one-minute film is about twelve 5-second shots and can be done in an afternoon.
How it works
A short film in six steps
1. Write the script
Write in screenplay format in the Script Editor: scene headings, action and dialogue, formatted as you type. Ask the AI for a first draft (1 credit) if you want something to react to, then rewrite it in your own words.

2. Break it into shots
Analyze script (free) fills the scene list from your headings. The AI breakdown (1 credit) proposes shots for each scene, with shot size, camera, length, cast and dialogue, and sends them to the Shot List.
3. Design the cast and the look
Make each character an element with reference images (2 credits a view) and set one look (style, palette, negative prompt) for every shot. The references go with each shot you generate, so the same face and the same world carry through the film.
4. Storyboard every shot
Import from shot list draws one frame per shot (3 credits each). Each frame sees the previous one and the scene's first frame, so sets and staging carry through a scene. Agree the composition on a still before paying for video.
5. Generate the shots
Run the whole shot list through one video model: a cheap one such as Wan 3.0 to test the plan, then Seedance 2.5, Veo 3.1 or Kling 3.0 for finals with sound. Every row shows the references it sends. Failed generations are refunded, and takes with dialogue are transcribed and checked against the script.
6. Edit and export
Assemble clips to timeline lays the takes out in shot order on a multi-track timeline. Cut for story, add sound and music, grade the shots so they match, then export MP4, ProRes or DNxHR up to 4K, or a 9:16 reframe for Shorts, Reels and TikTok.
Why MoviePro
One project, from first draft to final cut.
- Built for films of one to three minutes, the length most AI shorts, festivals and feeds work best at.
- One project holds the script, cast, shot list, storyboard, generated takes and the edit, so nothing is copied between apps.
- Change a line in the script and the shot it belongs to is right there to regenerate.
- A dozen video models from different labs in one place, priced per second in credits, so each shot can use the model that suits it.
- A real multi-track timeline with sound, grade and export, not a clip stitcher.

FAQ
Questions
How long does it take to make an AI short film?
A one-minute film can be done in an afternoon if you skip designing the cast and look; MoviePro's first-film lesson does it in about 30 minutes. A considered two to three-minute short with a designed cast, a storyboard and a proper sound mix usually takes one to two weeks of evenings.
How much does an AI short film cost?
For a one-minute film of twelve 5-second shots with two takes each on Seedance 2.5 at 720p, the video costs about 1,080 credits. A Wan 3.0 draft of the whole film adds about 120 credits, the storyboard 36. Writing, planning, editing and exporting cost nothing.
Can I submit an AI short film to festivals?
Many festivals accept AI-assisted films, with disclosure rules that vary. The Academy lessons on disclosure and on awards and festivals cover what's allowed in 2026.
Do I need to pay to start?
New accounts get 10 free credits once; there is no free plan. After that you buy credit packs, which never expire, or subscribe to Pro or Studio for monthly credits. Writing, planning, editing and exporting cost nothing; you pay credits only for AI generation and AI tools.
