How Much Does AI Video Cost per Second? (October 2026 Prices)

As of October 30, 2026, generating AI video on MoviePro costs between 1 and 17 credits per second of footage, depending on the model and resolution. On the Pro plan, where a credit works out to 5.8 cents, that's about $0.06 to $0.99 per second, so a 5-second shot costs anywhere from about 30 cents to about 5 dollars.

Those are the prices for footage you generate, not footage you keep. Most shots take more than one try, which matters more to your budget than the rate card. Both are covered below.

What does each AI video model cost per second?

Rates are in MoviePro credits per second of generated video. Dollar figures use the Pro plan's rate ($29 for 500 credits, 5.8 cents a credit) and are rounded.

ModelResolutionCredits per secondAbout $ per second (Pro)Clip length

Seedance 2.5480p / 720p4 / 9$0.23 / $0.524–30 s
Kling 3.0720p / 1080p / 4K9 / 12 / 15 (silent: 6 / 8 / 15)$0.52 / $0.70 / $0.873–15 s
Veo 3.1720p or 1080p14 (7 silent)$0.81 ($0.41 silent)4, 6 or 8 s
Cinema Studio 4.0480p / 720p8 / 17$0.46 / $0.994–30 s

"Silent" is the rate with generated audio turned off, on models where the provider charges less for video without sound. Every model page on MoviePro shows the same numbers, because the pages and the app read from one price list. The AI video cost comparison puts every model in one sortable table, with image and music prices too.

How much is a credit worth in dollars?

It depends on how you buy credits. These are the prices on the pricing page as of October 30, 2026:

How you buyPriceCreditsPer credit
Free plan$0 / month50free
Pro plan$29 / month5005.8¢
Studio plan$99 / month2,500about 4¢
Starter pack$91009¢
Creator pack$395007.8¢
Professional pack$991,5006.6¢

Monthly plan credits don't roll over; credit packs never expire. So the same second of Seedance 2.5 at 720p costs about 36 cents on Studio, 52 cents on Pro and 81 cents from a Starter pack.

What changes the price of a shot?

Length first, then resolution, then a few model-specific settings.

  • Duration. Price is linear in seconds. A 10-second shot costs twice a 5-second shot. Models with fixed lengths (Veo 3.1 takes 4, 6 or 8 seconds) round to the nearest allowed length.
  • Resolution. On most models, 1080p costs two to three times 480p.
  • Generated audio. Turning it off lowers the rate on Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1 and Veo 3.1 Fast. It makes no difference on the others.
  • Reference videos on Seedance 2.5. Reference images cost nothing extra, but sending reference videos switches the shot to the provider's higher video-input price, about 4.2 times the normal rate.
  • Automatic duration. If you let Seedance 2.5 pick the length, it's billed as 10 seconds.
  • Your own provider key. With your own Replicate key saved in MoviePro's settings, runs on Replicate-hosted models cost 0 MoviePro credits and Replicate bills you directly (Credits, plans and your own keys).

Failed generations are refunded automatically.

What does the rest of an AI film cost?

Video is most of the bill, but not all of it. Other common costs on MoviePro, as of October 30, 2026:

ItemCredits
Image, standard quality2 (GPT Image HD: 5)
Storyboard frame3 per panel
AI script draft, rewrite or breakdown1
Character reference sheet2 per view
Music track2–11, depending on model and length
Voiceover1 per 1,000 characters
Lip sync2 per second
Sound effect for a clip2

How much does a whole AI short film cost?

Here's a worked budget for a 90-second short with 18 shots, each generated at about 6 seconds so there's room to trim.

  1. Draft pass. Two takes of every shot on Wan 3.0 at 480p to test the plan and the cut: 18 × 6 s × 2 × 1 credit = 216 credits.
  2. Final pass. Seedance 2.5 at 720p, averaging one and a half takes per shot: 18 × 6 s × 1.5 × 9 = 1,458 credits.
  3. Storyboard. One frame per shot: 18 × 3 = 54 credits.
  4. Script, breakdown and shot list: about 3 credits.
  5. Music: one Stable Audio track, 7 credits.

Total: about 1,738 credits. On the Pro plan's rate, that's roughly $100; on Studio, about $69. In cash, Pro's 500 monthly credits plus one Professional pack (1,500) covers it with about 260 credits to spare, for $128.

The biggest variable isn't on the rate card. It's how many takes you throw away. A film made with no storyboard and long, vague prompts can easily need four or five takes a shot, which doubles the total.

How do you keep AI video costs down?

  • Draft cheap, finish once. Block the film on a 1-credit-per-second model, cut it, and only then render finals for shots that survived the edit.
  • Storyboard first. A 3-credit frame tells you whether the composition works before a 45-credit take does.
  • Generate short. Ask for the length the edit needs plus a second or two, not 15 seconds "just in case".
  • Turn audio off when you'll replace it. If a shot will be covered by music, the silent rate is a third cheaper on Kling 3.0 (below 4K) and Veo 3.1 Fast, and half price on Veo 3.1.
  • Fix rather than re-render. Removing an object, extending a clip or re-voicing a line usually costs less than a new take (Fix a shot without re-rendering).
  • Keep characters consistent. Most retakes are continuity failures. See how to keep characters consistent.

Which model gives the best value?

There isn't one answer, because value depends on what the shot needs:

  • Cheapest per second: Wan 3.0 and Seedance 1 Lite at 480p, 1 credit each. Good for drafts and simple shots.
  • Cheapest 1080p: LTX-2.3 Pro and Seedance 1 Lite at 3 credits per second.
  • Cheapest with sound: LTX-2.3 Pro at 1080p (3 credits per second), then Seedance 2.5 at 480p (4).
  • References for character consistency: Seedance 2.5 at 4 or 9 credits per second takes up to 30 reference images.
  • Longest single shots: Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0 and Cinema Studio 4.0 go up to 30 seconds.

For dialogue in particular, see the best AI video model for lip sync and dialogue.

Will these prices change?

Probably. Our prices follow what the model providers charge, and providers change prices and release new models often. Treat the numbers here as accurate on October 30, 2026, and check the model pages or the cost shown in the app before you generate. The app always shows a shot's exact cost and your balance after it before you click.
